I am getting this error (subject line) going from a database to excel (ole db connection to excel destination. the connection manager for the Excel Destinatiomn is an Excel Connection - Excel 2007 Is that correct? I removed all of the mappings except 1 text field to keep it simple. any ideas on troubleshooting.. is the Excel Connection manager the culprit.. what should I be using?

Could you publish the entire error? Off what I see you need to go and refresh the metadata in the package after you did the changes, so no yellow triangles are seen.Arthur My Blog

I am using 2008 - [SSIS.Pipeline] Error: SSIS Error Code DTS_E_PROCESSINPUTFAILED. The ProcessInput method on component "Excel Destination" (682) failed with error code 0xC0202009 while processing input "Excel Destination Input" (693). The identified component returned an error from the ProcessInput method. The error is specific to the component, but the error is fatal and will cause the Data Flow task to stop running. There may be error messages posted before this with more information about the failure. Also, I have no Yellow triangle in my data flow area. I thought I read something about Excel destination with 2007. That is why I mentioned what I was using as my connection manager to represent the output file name and path. ALso, when I click on preview in the Destination , the data all shows up at NULL..

sounds like I don't need the data conversion task. But I did get some errors with Unicode versus, etc But I will walk through the link above. I am using sql server 2008 - Doubt that would make any difference with the link above.
